Question
20 cm3 of x M solution of HCl is exactly neutralised by 40 cm3 of 0.05 M NaOH solution, the pH of HCl solution is
Options
A.1.0
B.2
C.1.5
D.2.5
Solution
N1V1(HCl) = N2V2(NaOH)
x × 20 = 40 × 0.05
x = 0.1
∴ M of HCl = 0.1.
[H3O+] = 0.1 = 10-1.
pH = 1
x × 20 = 40 × 0.05
x = 0.1
∴ M of HCl = 0.1.
[H3O+] = 0.1 = 10-1.
pH = 1
