Question
In young′s double slit experiment, how many maximas can be obtained on a screen (including the central maxima) on both sides of central fringe. If λ = 2000(Ao) and d = 7000(Ao) :-
Options
A.7
B.18
C.4
D.12
Solution
In YDSE angle S1PS2 must be ninty degree for obtaining maxima on screen. It is possible only up to that position when S1S2 > S2P
So path difference for maxima nλ < d, if can obtain only up to third maxima in one side after the central maxima.
