Question

If some function say  x varies linearly time end time and we  want to find its average value in a given time interval we can directly find by . Hence xi is the  initial value of x and xf its final value.
x and y co - ordinates of a particle moving in x - y plane at some instant are : x = 2t2 and y = 3 / 2 t2. The average velocity of particle in at time interval from t = 1 s to t 2s is : -

Options

A.(8î + 5ĵ) m/s
B.(12î + 9ĵ) m/s
C.(6î + 4.5ĵ) m/s
D.(10î + 6ĵ) m/s

Solution

= 4tî + 3tĵ (∵ x = at2 & y = 3/2t2)
v (1) = 4î + 3ĵ ; v(2)  = 8î + 6ĵ
∴ < v > = = (6î + 4.5ĵ) m/s
