NEET cutoff marks determine who qualifies for the rank list — and ranks determine which medical college you get. Understanding the cutoff landscape helps set realistic targets for NEET 2026.

NEET 2024 Qualifying Cutoff (for Rank List)

General/EWS: 50th percentile (~720-137 marks range historically). OBC/SC/ST: 40th percentile. PWD: 45th percentile. In raw marks: General needs approximately 137+ marks to qualify for NEET rank list. But this is just to appear in the list — not to get into government medical colleges.

Government MBBS College Cutoffs

AIIMS Delhi (All India): 700+ marks (approximate). Top government medical colleges (MAMC, UCMS, VMC): 650-690 marks. Mid-tier government colleges: 600-650 marks. Lower-end government state quota: 550-600 marks. These vary by state and year.

State Quota vs All India Quota

85% of government seats are state quota — competition is against students from that state only. 15% are All India quota — competition is national. If your home state has fewer NEET takers, your rank in state quota may be significantly better than All India rank.

Private Medical College Cutoffs

Management quota private colleges: Often 400-500 marks. NRI/Management seats: Some colleges accept 350+ marks. However: private MBBS costs ₹60-100 lakh over 5 years. Government college is the goal for most students.

NEET 2026 Predicted Cutoffs

Based on 5-year trend: General qualifying mark expected to remain 137-150 range. Government college seats: 600+ marks for reliable All India government MBBS. State quota: varies widely — check your state's previous year data. Aim for 600+ for safety.
