Question
Two identical carts constrained to move on a straight line, on which sit two twins of same mass, are moving with same velocity. At some time snow begins to drop uniformly vertically downward. Ram, sitting on one of the trolleys, throws off the falling snow sideways and in the second cart shyam is a sleep. (Assume that friction is absent)
Options
A.Cart carrying Ram will speed up while cart carrying shyam will slow down
B.Cart carrying Ram will remain at the same speed while cart carrying shyam will slow down
C.Cart carrying Ram will speed up while cart carrying shyam will remain at the same speed
D.Cart carrying Ram as well as shyam will slow down
Solution
Sol.
As snow falls mass of (trolly + snow) increases ⇒ $\frac{V}{P}$ decreases due to conservation.
no extra force due to Ram on snow in direction of v no extra force due to snow on ram ⇒ due throw of ice ⇒ velocity of trolley in forward direction is not changed.
