Question
The two ends of a metal rod are matainted at temperatures 100oC and 110oC. The rate of heat flow in the rod is found to be 4.0 J/s. If the ends are maintained at temperatures 200oC and 210oC, the rate of heat flow will be :
Options
A.16.8 J/s
B.8.0 J/s
C.4.0 J/s
D.44.0 J/s
Solution
Rate of heat flow ∝ temperature difference between two ends
⇒
∝ (T2 − T1)
Here temperature differnece in both case is same (i.e. 10oC)
So, rate of heat flow will also be same
So,
= 4J/s
⇒
Here temperature differnece in both case is same (i.e. 10oC)
So, rate of heat flow will also be same
