Hydrogen and its compoundHard
Question
The volume of water which must be added to a mixture of 350 cm3 of 6M HCl and 650 ml of 3M HCl to get a resulting solution of 3M concentration is :-
Options
A.75 ml
B.150 ml
C.100 ml
D.350 ml
Solution
m1v1 + m2v2 = m3v3
6 × 350 + 3 × 650 = 3 × v3
⇒ v3 = 1350 cm3
volume of water = 1350 - (350 + 650) = 350 cm3
6 × 350 + 3 × 650 = 3 × v3
⇒ v3 = 1350 cm3
volume of water = 1350 - (350 + 650) = 350 cm3
