Question
The ion that cannot be precipitated by both HCl and H2S is :
Options
A.Pb2+
B.Cu+
C.Ag+
D.Sn2+
Solution
Chlorides and sulphide of Pb2+, Cu+ and Ag+ are water insoluble so they can be precipitated by noth HCl and H2O. On the otherhand Sn2+ chloride is water soluble while SnS is insoluble. So Sn2+ can be preciolited only by H2S and not by HCl
