Momentum and CollisionHard
Question
A body of mass 2kg is projected upward from the surface of the ground at t = 0 with a velocity of 20m/s. One second later a body B, also of mass 2kg. is dropped from height of 20m. If they collide elastically then velocities just after collision are
Options
A.vA = 5 m/s downward, vB = 5 m/s upward
B.vA = 10 m/s downward, vB = 5 m/s upward
C.vA = 10 m/s downward, vB = 10 m/s upward
D.Both move downward with velocity 5 m/s
Solution
After 1s, vA = 20 - 10 × 1 = 10 m/s
and vB = 0 + 10 × 1 = 10 m/s
At the time of collision
VA = VB = 5m/s
After collision velocity gets enter changed
and vB = 0 + 10 × 1 = 10 m/s
At the time of collision
VA = VB = 5m/s
After collision velocity gets enter changed
