Question
If the system of equations x + y - 3 = 0, (1 + K)x + (2 + K)y - 8 = 0 & x - (1 + K)y + (2 + K) = 0 is consistent then the value of K may be -
Options
A.1
B.3/5
C.-5/3
D.2
Solution
x + y = 3 ......(i)
(1 + K)x + (K + 2)y = 8 ......(ii)
x - (1 + K)y = - K - 2 ......(iii)
If system is consistent then ᐃ = 0
on solving we get
K = 1,
(1 + K)x + (K + 2)y = 8 ......(ii)
x - (1 + K)y = - K - 2 ......(iii)
If system is consistent then ᐃ = 0
on solving we get
K = 1,
