Sol.(a) [Key Concept: Special Creation Theory — Earth ~4000 Years Old] According to the special creation theory (based on literal interpretation of religious texts), the Earth is about 4000 years old. Bishop Ussher calculated in 1650 that the Earth was created on 23 October 4004 BCE. This contrasts sharply with scientific estimates placing Earth's age at approximately 4.5 billion years.
