At block surface ray moving away from normal so μ3 < μ2
but since no total internal reflection takes place on prism surface
μ1 sin 45 < μ2 sin 90

(S) Total internal reflection takes place so.
μ1 sin 45 > μ2 sin 90
μ1 > μ2 √2
