Question
A concave mirror having the focal length 15 cm, from an image having twice of the linear dimensions of the object If the image is virtual, Then the position of the object will be:
Options
A.7.5cm
B.22.5 cm
C.40 cm
D.30 cm
Solution
Since, image is virtual v is + ve
f = - 15 cm, u = ?
m = 2 =
v = 2u
Applying mirror formula
⇒
⇒ u = 7.5 cm
or
We know that virtual and erect image is formed when we place an object within focal lenth of the mirror. As focal length given = 15 cm . So, object distance must be lass than 15 cm out of given option only one option is correct.
