In young′s experiment the monochromatic light is used to illuminate two slits A and B as shown in fringes are observed on a screen placed in front of the slits. Now a thin glass plate is placed normally in the path of beam coming from the slit A, then

Solution

When we put a glass plate in the path of then there is change of place of fringes on the screen. All the including central fring are shifted. It does not result in change of fringe width.
