Question
A, B and C are voltmeters of resistance R, 1.5 Rand 3R respectively as shown in the figure. Whensome potential difference is applied between X andY, the voltmeter readings are VA, VB and VCrespectively. Then :

Options
A.VA ≠ VB = VC
B.VA = VB ≠ VC
C.VA ≠ VB ≠ VC
D.VA = VB = VC
Solution
Effective resistance of B & C =
In series sequence V ∝ R
so voltage across′A′ = voltage across B & C
Now B & C are parallel so VB = VC
⇒ VA = VB = VC
Hence option (4)
