If a plant cell is placed in a hypotonic solution /pure water, water starts moving in by endomosis. As the volume of protoplast increases, it begins to exert pressuree gainst the cell wall (turgor pressure). The cell wall exerts equal and opposite pressure (wall pessure) on the protoplast.
