Passive immunity was discovered by Eduward Jenner against chicken pox. In passive immunity ready made antibodies (γ -globulins) obtained from human or animal serum, who alerady had recovered from an infectious disease, are injected into human body to develop immunity. It is used against measeles, rubeolla, mumps, diphtheria, tetanus, snake venom, scarlet rabies and Salmonella bacterial infection.
