Question
Magnification of compound microscope is not connected with
Options
A.numerical aperture
B.focal length of objective
C.focal length of eye piece
D.tube length
Solution
Magnification is the power of enlargement. It is the ration of the size of an oblect under micro scope to the actual size observed without microscope .Magnification depends on focal length of lenses and length of body tube. It does not depend on numerical aperture of objective lens and the nature of light being used for illumination. The total magnification of a microscope is determined by multiplying the magnifying power of the objective lens by that of the eye piece.
