The figure shows a concave mirror of radius of curvature R and a point source S at a distance 2R on the principal axis. Find the distance between the two images formed by the reflection from the upper half of mirror and by the reflection from the lower half of the mirror.

Solution

Laws of reflection is same for mirror whether it is in air or inside water.
∴ Both the halves will make the images at same position.
∴ The distance between the two images is zero.
