The spring balance A reads 2 kg with a block m suspended from it. A balance reads 5 kg when the beaker with liquid is put on the pan of the balance. The two balance are now so arragned that the hanging mass is inside the liquid in the beaker as shown in the figure. In this situtation

Liquid will apply an upthrust on m. An equal force will be exerted (from Newton′s thirs law) on equal force. Hence, A will read less than 2 kg and B will read more than 5 kg. Therefore, the correct options are (b) and (c).
