Rotational MotionHard
Question
Two gear wheels which are meshed together have radii of 0.50 cm and 0.15 cm. The number of revolutions does the smaller turns when the larger turns through 3 revolution is
Options
A.5 revolution
B.20 revolution
C.1 revolution
D.10 revolution
Solution
r1 = 0.5 × 10-2 ; r2 = 0.15 × 10-2
⇒ 2πr1 × 3 = 2πr2 × n
∴ 0.5 × 10-2 × 3 = 0.15 × 10-2 × n ⇒ n = 10
⇒ 2πr1 × 3 = 2πr2 × n
∴ 0.5 × 10-2 × 3 = 0.15 × 10-2 × n ⇒ n = 10
