Question
If first minima in a Young′s slit experiment occurs directly in front of one of slits, (distance between slit & screen D = 12 cm and distance between slits d = 5 cm) then the wavelength of the wavelength of the radiation used can be:
Options
A.2 cm
B.4 cm
C.
cm
D.
cm
Solution
By Geometry, path difference at ′0′ minima should be (2n - 1)
∴ S2O - S1O = (2n - 1)
⇒
- D = (2n - 1)
⇒ (13 - 12) cm = (2n - 1)
For n = 1, 2, 3 ⇒ λ = 2cm,
cm,
∴ S2O - S1O = (2n - 1)
⇒
⇒ (13 - 12) cm = (2n - 1)
For n = 1, 2, 3 ⇒ λ = 2cm,
