Question
To 10 mL of 1 M BaCl2 solution 5 mL of 0.5 M K2SO4 is added. BaSO4 is precipitated out. What will happen ?
Options
A.Freezing point will increase.
B.Boiling point will increase.
C.Freezing point will lower down.
D.Boiling point will lower down.
Solution
Adding K2SO4 into Bacl2 solution will result into precipitation of BaSO4 which is non-volatile, and therefore boiling point of solution will be increased and its freezing point will decrease.
