The convention for naming these enzymes is the first letter of the namescomes from the bactrial genus; the second two letters comes from the species, and thefourth letter comes from the Eco RI comes from Escherichia coli RY13. Roman numbersfollowing the names indicate the order in which the enzymes were isolated.
